Boundaries between the city and the Valley (Story Bridge) area are evident, although they are not physically there. The Brisbane river is an edge separating the main central business areas and the tourist popular places such as Kangaroo Point. The cliffs near the Howard Street Wharf act as a limit, where it separates the lower public spaces of the wharf and the more quieter suburbs above.
